In this section we provide information about how to use RSD.

If you would like to experiment with adding content to the RSD yourself, your can use theour online demo version of the Netherlands eScience Center at https://research-software.dev. This online demo allows anyone to add software and projects using test accounts. Please note that the data entered in this demo version is not curated in any way, and may be deleted at any time!
📄️ Navigating the RSD
There are many ways to discover interesting research software on the RSD. The main starting points are:

While anyone is free to browse through the content of the RSD, you'll need to be able to sign in before you can add our own content.

If you wish to officially add your organisation to the RSD, or claim an organisation which is already listed but not an official member yet, please contact the

📄️ User settings
You can access user settings via user menu at the top right side of the screen.
📄️ Maintaining an organisation
Organisations have the opportunity to maintain their representation within the RSD.
📄️ Maintaining a community
Maintaining a community has a lot of overlap with maintaining an organisation. We therefore refer to the section on maintaining an organisation. The most important differences with organisations will be described below.

Organisations have the opportunity to maintain their representation within the Helmholtz RSD.
📄️ Data scrapers
The RSD uses data scraper services to obtain and update various data. In this chapter, we explain these services.
📄️ Cookies
First time you visit RSD website you will be asked to accept the cookies. We use Matomo to anonymously measure page views in the RSD. The statistics help us make user centric approach to the feature development.
