Sensor Management System

The Sensor Management System (SMS) allows the comprehensive acquisition, administration and export of meta data of platforms, sensors and measurement configurations by stations and campaigns operated in the Helmholtz research field Earth & Environment.

The system was developed in the DataHub context as cooperation between the centres FZJ, UFZ, KIT & GFZ.

Currently there are three productive instances:

• https://sms.earth-data.fz-juelich.de/

For making the first steps with the SMS, we further suggest to use our SMS-Sandbox.

The SMS is a community-driven software project. And for establishing an active user-community, we offer monthly meetings as a platform for presenting new features, discussing issues and bugs, and jointly developing best-practices and guidelines for improving the usability of the SMS.
