DataHub Initiative of the Research Field Earth and Environment
The DataHub of the Research Field Earth and Environment is a joint initiative of all centers of the Helmholtz Association participating in the research program 'Changing Earth'. Three SubHubs (ATMO, MARE and TERRA) assigned to the compartments of the Earth system jointly form the DataHub.
The DataHub brings together the (Earth system) data in the research area Earth and Environment. This process requires a consistent implementation of the FAIR principles and opens the data to the outside (openness).
It thus represents an offer to all researchers and other users of the data to gain new insights.
Within the DataHub, data management tools are developed and made available, and data products are offered in thematic viewers. The continuous and long-term development process of these solutions is the DataHub's task. Furthermore, networking of the DataHub with other national (e.g. NFDI) and international initiatives (e.g. EOSC, RDA) takes place.
BELUGA is a system for displaying and monitoring platforms and sensor data during operations at sea in real time. Data can be displayed on board vessels and is available in an online interface in near real time. Communication with the platforms is also possible. Try it here: https://beluga.geomar.de
mDIS is a database management application for capturing and curating meta data on geological samples, drilling progress, and related datasets such as images or geophysical well logs. It is easily adaptable and ensures that all data is compiled and quality controlled in one place.
Ocean Data View (ODV) - Interactive exploration, analysis and visualization of oceanographic and other environmental data.
A consistent, extensible, easy-to-use tool/framework for reproducible quality control of time series data.
The Sensor Management System (SMS) allows the comprehensive acquisition, administration and export of meta data of platforms, sensors and measurement configurations by stations and campaigns operated in the Helmholtz research field Earth & Environment.
