Description
Herbie is a semantic Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN) developed at Hereon. Thanks to its open technology, it can be applied across a wide range of scientific disciplines and serves as a bridge between them — from materials science and biology to medicine and coastal research.
Herbie supports structured, machine readable documentation of laboratory processes and experiments. Through the automated semantic annotation of all entries, it enables consistent, interoperable, and sustainable FAIR data management.
Users can upload ontologies and vocabularies from any field. With just a few additional specifications, it automatically generates intuitive input forms. All entries are semantically annotated in the background and integrated into a knowledge graph that is ideal for complex queries. This way, users benefit from the full power of the RDF ecosystem without needing to engage with its technical details themselves.
